The Beginnings
About Us

Hi, I’m Becky,
Founder of 513 Lagree.
My fitness journey started in 2015 following a cervical cancer diagnosis. At the time, I was raising three-year-old twins, working a stressful corporate job, and had never been particularly consistent with working out. Facing a health challenge like that gave me a reality check: I had the ability to move my body and take care of my health, so why wasn't I doing it?
I jumped in headfirst, becoming a 5:00 AM workout person seven days a week. But I didn't have much balance—I was overtraining, under-nourishing, and ended up with five stress fractures over six years. I realized I needed a smarter, more sustainable way to stay fit.
That’s when a new studio opened near my house offering a Lagree-style workout. From day one, it completely shifted my perspective on fitness. Within a month, I saw visible results and felt stronger than I ever had—all without beating up my body.
During the pandemic, I read Designing Your Life while navigating a high-stress corporate career. It challenged me to think about how I could create a life centered around what truly mattered to me and hopefully bring that same experience to others. When my local studio announced its sudden closure in November 2021, I knew how life-changing the workout was and that it needed to continue. It felt like a calling to step up, protect the community that had started to form, and make sure Cincinnati didn't lose access to this workout.
I reached out to three of the coaches there at the time—August, Allyson, and Haley, all three of whom are still with 513 Lagree today!—and asked if they’d join me if I opened a new studio. They were immediately on board because they believed in the workout as much as I did.
What I thought I was creating was just a space for a great workout, but what we actually built was something much bigger: an incredible, supportive community. Anyone might try a workout once, but what truly keeps people coming back is the environment, the people alongside them, and compassionate, dedicated coaches.
We pride ourselves on having the best team of coaches because they genuinely care about our members. We are also committed to bringing top-tier Lagree knowledge directly to our studio so our community always gets the best, most up-to-date instruction. That’s why we bring in Amy Teter—one of only eight Lagree Senior Master Trainers worldwide—twice a year. Whether onboarding new coaches with Level 1 training or advancing our team with Level 2 certifications, we are constantly learning and deepening our education.
